Perspective

Publication Design & Poetry 2014 The publication “Perspective” is a 500 word poem that journeys the idea and importance of perspective, typographically. The unassuming 10cm squared blank cover opens out in stages to become a 30cm squared typographic jigsaw that one must twist, turn and rotate before getting to the content. A reflective publication is based on the work I’ve been doing in my third year of my Graphic Design degree at university. At this juncture the content of the projects is almost irrelevant when compared to the...

System

Concept, Illustration & Installation 2014 We think of a system as a closed circuit, that functions independently with an input, process, and output. But the fact is that every system works within a larger system, and we could potentially argue that the entire universe is one large system with smaller systems. So ‘system’ here is represented through a series of figurines showing the interdependence of human bodily systems. Each body system is mapped on the figurines with pen. system-02...

Disobedient Objects

Poster Design & Advert 2014 A team brief for a workshop by Claude d’Avoine, to advertise the “Disobedient Objects” Exhibition at the V&A without using any images from the exhibition. The solution is the iconic mask from “V for Vendetta” that has become synonymous with civil disobedience for social or political reform. The half-toned image represents the power in numbers; it is the masses that rewrite history. Quote

Poster Design: Hand drawn typography & Illustration 2013 Quote by Marshall McLuhan, illustrated so the Eiffel tower forms the ‘A’ of “Art”. Illustration and typography are hand drawn. Ironically the quote is often mis-credited to Andy Warhol, which is just as well since he got away with it! Goodricke

Package Design 2013 A package redesign for the Indian tea manufacturer “Goodricke.” Brief was to reflect the modernization and mechanization of the tea industry, instead of the usual imagery of the tea-picker seen on most packs. While abiding to the brand restrictions like font and logo size, the package is redesigned with bands of colour mirroring the tea hills and tea leaves forming the images of a leaf, a cup and a teapot for the three grades of tea produced. Culture Chess

Concept & Installation 2012 The Chess set explores the intermingling of the two cultures that have shaped me, India and Britain. A chess set is modified to mirror the history between the two countries- that of passion, struggle, strategy and victory by visually representing two distinct cultures that with time merge on the chess board to form a beautifully diverse and balanced map. Weaving the maps of the two countries together makes the checkered-board. Each piece is painstakingly customized by hand to represent elements of culture....
